Why PEPPERALARM™ was developed.

Our family-owned company has been in the security guard business for over 50 years, and in 2007 we were robbed. This changed how we viewed security and the need to adapt to a new strategy.

Even though we had a monitored security camera alarm system in place we were still robbed. The surveillance video footage gave beautiful pictures of four guys wearing ski masks and gloves breaking into our office, stealing what they wanted, and then running away with our stuff.

I thought our company was properly secured for after business hours by also having a security camera alarm system, but I was wrong. This smash-and-grab theft took less than 30 seconds and the thieves were long gone before anybody could respond.

I drove to the police station to file a report, but when I told the officers what had happened to my company, they all started to laugh. They thought it was extremely funny that a security company had been robbed.

I was very upset when I went into the police station, but after these cops had humiliated me, I was FURIOUS. I decided right there that I was going to make sure that this would never happen to me ever again.

I hired a Professional Electronic Engineer and told him what I had in mind. We started from scratch, trying numerous ideas until we finally came up with the unique PEPPERALARM™ device and sourced the better indoor alternative to regular red pepper spray, a completely CLEAR VAPOR IRRITANT. It leaves no mess so no clean-up is required.

The device, once activated by motion detection, will emit the irritant vapor into the area selected for protection against break-ins and cause the thief to experience a sudden irritation in their throat and seriously consider leaving the scene empty-handed.
